Automatic audit of construction progress certificates
Every certificate, reconciled against the budget and against what has already been certified. Whatever does not fit is brought into view.
The problem
- Presto and Menfis help you budget, but neither one watches what you are later billed against that budget.
- Certificates arrive as PDFs, each contractor with their own format, and get skimmed over whenever there is time.
- The errors are silent: retentions added instead of subtracted, totals that do not match their own lines, and items decertified without warning.
- Nobody catches them, because reviewing them by hand, line by line, takes more hours than anyone has.
The solution
- It reads each certificate and cross-checks it against the budget and against what was certified in previous months.
- It recalculates the whole document: quantities, prices, materials on site, retentions and totals.
- It detects the flipped sign on retentions, the totals that do not add up and the items that vanish from one certificate to the next.
- It delivers a report with every deviation, its amount and the exact line where it sits.
- It does not decide for you: it points out what does not add up so you can dispute it with the paperwork in hand.

Result
In the first real certificates we analysed, all three kinds of error showed up at once: retentions with the sign flipped, sums done wrong within the invoice itself, and items decertified without warning. The order of magnitude runs from hundreds to thousands of euros per project. We measure it on your own certificates before you decide anything.
